Renewables now almost a quarter of global power, with global 2010 investment of $211 bn.

The REN 21 Global Status Report summarises strong renewables growth, totalling approximately half all the 194 GW of new electricity generation coming onstream in 2010, contributing around 20% total global electricity supply, and close to a quarter by early 2011. Total investment in renewables was $211bn, up from $160 bn in 2009.
