I will cover the progress of this grand Chinese infrastructure scheme periodically because how the Chinese execute their plans, especially the carbon intensity of their operations overseas, will be a key factor in how the climate-change problem plays out. There will be no point in their decarbonising at home if they fail to do so overseas.
