Google owner Alphabet, biggest corporate renewables buyer, reaches 100% renewable power


Google’s now $3 billion investment in wind and solar powers all data centres, wherein electricity use grows in double digits % each year.

This is significant corporate-responsibility leadership within the RE100 group of companies (a hundred-plus large companies committed to 100% renewably powering their global operations). We have to hope it somehow be replicated across the entire tech arena. But as the news flow suggests, this is far from certain as things stand.
