The UK’s Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy runs the poll every three months. This one finds that 66% would be happy to have a large renewables project locally. 74% are concerned about climate change.
With levels of support like this, the popularity of renewables clearly transcends political boundaries. It is perplexing to me that a Conservative government can be resistant to doing what Conservative voters would clearly prefer them to do, and support renewables over shale and nuclear.
