Solar panels capable of mining water from the air to be trialed at 150 sites across Australia

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) says the SOURCE panels, based on a combination of solar PV and solar thermal, can produce 5 litres of clean drinking water a day.

I include such news pieces in the chronology not because I am certain the technology can work on a commercial scale, but to give a feeling for the range of the possible. Plus, of course, the great drying continent desperately needs technology of this kind.
