National trade group BSW Solar aims to make batteries “standard” in the energiewende, and to add the next 100,000 in the next 2 years.
It is marvelous for me to see Solarwatt at the heart of this good-news story. I was on the board of the first ever private equity fund investing only in renewables in the noughties. We invested in Solarwatt and I visited the factory in Dresden. The fund went under, after ten years, but Solarwatt, like Solarcentury, is one of the rare survivors from carnage caused by the financial crisis towards the end of that decade.
