Siemens boss urges need for retraining in a global car workforce facing one third cuts in a decade

Joe Kaeser is already spending €500m a year on retraining because “the fourth industrial revolution which will obviously affect manufacturing massively as it accounts for 70% of global GDP.”

In a rationale world, governments would be working closely with industry on this, focussing on accelerated building of (relatively) job intensive decarbonisation industries in parallel with the retraining of workers for them. What a great way to create new prosperity and empowerment while meeting Paris commitments. And a constructive first step in protecting and rebuilding fractured societies and liberal democracies under threat.
